22 Aug PhD opportunities available: Food Lab case study
The Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University is offering two PhD posts for the TRANSMOD project – “Building models of, with and for sustainability transformations”:
The project studies why and how transformative change emerges (or not). It does so from two theoretical perspectives: a complex adaptive systems (CAS) and a process-relational perspective (PRP).
One PhD candidate will study transformative change from a process-relational perspective. The focus will be on the notion of attractors which is key for understanding change. Most likely, the empirical research will focus on food system transformation in South Africa, for which we will join ongoing work in transformation labs.

The other PhD candidate will study sustainability transformations using theories and concepts from the complex adaptive systems perspective. The case study is linked to ongoing efforts for transformative change led by practitioner partners, the Southern Africa Food Lab.
